This year we had a great chance to take a vacation on Hornby Island (3 ferries from Vancouver). It is quite a remote island, small and with beautiful beaches. This island isn’t really far but it is hard to get to because of all of the ferries. We had a great vacation which started with a trip to Victoria to see the bug museum (click here to view).
It was a lot of fun for both kids to be on the ferry.

On the island we had a lot of fun at the beaches – we met up with our neighbors and saw them almost every day at the beach. The main reason for this trip was for daddy to play a concert on Hornby Island. Part of the deal of him accepting the gig was for them to host us on the island for the weekend. The funny thing about all of this was on the way to the gig – halfway to the first ferry- Grace turned to me and said “Jasper, did you pack your violin?” I couldn’t’ believe that I had forgotten my violin. We rushed home picked it up and barely made it to the ferry in time…whew!!
