This is Madeline’s first Halloween at daycare. She was very excited to be a ladybug and kept saying “ladybug” all day. At Chuva all the kids dressed up and celebrated Halloween throughout the day. Madeline was also a trooper and loved coming along for trick-or-treat with Ryan and his princesses. Here are some photos of Madeline dressed up.

One of the benefits of living on a huge university campus is the fact that we have such easy access to all of the facilities (swimming, biking, skating, tennis, gym etc..) On a few evenings each week they have open gym time (the place where we celebrated Ryan’s birthday). This was the first time that I brought Madeline with Ryan and I to the gym. I had no idea that she would have so much fun – I thought she was a bit too young but I was wrong. She didn’t stop jumping for the whole hour.

This title won’t make any sense to anyone and that’s ok. Grace has been doing a lot of video exercising lately and the kids love it. They always want to join in. There are a few different videos that Grace likes – Insanity, Jillian and Turbo Fire. In Turbo Fire there is a section where the music gets pretty exciting and the singer says “sopa, sopa, sopa”. It is everyone’s favorite part (hence the title of this video).

Today was a very important day for Madeline. She used the potty for the first time! she was showing us quite a bit of interest but whenever it came time for the ‘business’ she would always back off. What we figured out today was that she needed privacy. So when she used the potty today, she shut the door and did her pee pee. Afterwards she opened the door and said the longest sentence I’ve ever heard to Ryan’s friend Ella (who was over for a playdate).
Afterwards she gave everyone a high five (at her request).

Madeline has been very fortunate to have been handed down a lot of Ella’s cute clothes. Madeline knows which clothes Ella gave to her and is always very happy to show off “Ella’s clothes”. Madeline is very much a girly girl and loves boots and shoes. She absolutely loves Ella’s pink cowboy boots!
