Mommy’s work Christmas party

Mommy was in charge of organizing a Children’s Christmas Party at her work this year, so Ryan and Madeline got to dress up to come to the party (Ryan even got to skip his hockey practice!) With mommy in charge, they knew it was going to be spectacular!!   There were balloons, lots of yummy food, an entertainer that juggled and did magic tricks, and of course Santa who brought gifts to all the kids that attended the party.

Santa on campus!

Here is a family photo of daddy and the kids on Santa’s lap.  You may be wondering why Madeline is wearing pjs and why daddy is on Santa’s lap.  Let’s just say that Madeline is the boss and tells daddy what to do, and he listens!

Halmoni and Harabuji visit to Vancouver

Halmoni and Harbuji hardly  ever come visit us in Vancouver but decided to make a very short, last minute trip.  We were all very excited!  We went to eat Halmoni’s favoirte noodle at Sha Lin, went to the Lego Store where Halmonie and Harabuji got Ryan a new Lego set (Palpatine’s Arrest), and we went to Queen Elizabeth Park on a beautiful sunny day to have brunch.  Their trip was very short but it was very nice for the kids to spend time with them.

Halloween 2013

One of our kids’ favourite day of the year is Halloween.  What’s there not to like?  They get to dress up and get treats!  Madeline decided to dress up in Ryan’s old Fireman costume to daycare.  It was a surprise to everyone as we were certain that she was going to dress up as a princess.  The fireman costume was slightly big on her but she looked super cute.  She ended up changing into a princess costume in the evening for trick or treat though.

Daddy, of course, outdid himself again and made Ryan a Luke Skywalker costume.  We tried looking for the costume from stores but with Star Wars being so popular amongst 5 year olds, it was impossible to find one.   Daddy screwed up a few times but managed to make Ryan a great Luke Skywalker costume that he happily and proudly wore to school and to trick or treat.  As an annual tradition, we met up with Ella and went around our neighbourhood for trick or treating.

Can you tell from the pumpkin carvings that we have a boy and a girl?  (Madeline really wanted to be a firewoman for her dress up at Chuva – her daycare!)

Bliss!

Anyone who is a parent understands how crazy things can get.  Add in a second kid (or more) and it gets even crazier, especially when the kids are very young.  For us, there are few precious moments where both kids take a break and you get what I call ‘Parental Bliss’ where everything is quiet.  Well, for this spectacular moment we didn’t steal the moment as an opportunity for some of our own downtime, instead we wanted to capture it on film to remember this rare moment.
