Outside?

This might seem weird but Madeline doesn’t really know the outside.  Sure, we took her out last summer but she was so young there is no way she could ever remember it.  Then, of course, our rainy winters are not really inviting for a six month old who can’t walk to go out and play.  So, Madeline really doesn’t know the outside.

We took a vacation (yes, I know, another vacation?) to Seattle and to visit the Seattle zoo and the Children’s museum.    The weather was fantastic and at the top of the Children’s Museum was a huge outside play area.  We spent quite a bit of time up there and Madeline had a fantastic time –just running around trying to figure out what that warm yellow bright light in the sky was, and why it felt so good.

Check out her having a blast outside.

Twirly

Isn’t it funny how young kids are so easily entertained.  This was a funny moment that we caught on tape.  Madeline thinks it is pretty cool to twirl herself around.

Getting better every day

To be honest – it really is hard to catch Madeline on video while walking.  As soon as she sees the phone or video camera she cries for it because she wants to see what you are recording.  So basically, you end up with her walking and crying, not a very cute video.  In some ways it is almost cruel to keep trying but the reason this video works is because she is walking away from me (she doesn’t know I have the camera in my hand).

Walking and carrying something

Madeline’s new thing is to walk and carry something around.  Her new favorite thing is a bag of chalk – actually she really just wants to try and draw on the chalkboard but since we don’t let her do that (she likes to put the chalk in her mouth) she is pretty content to practice her walking while carrying something.
