Ryan is very fortunate to have a lot of close friends from school and the area where we live. When it comes time to invite his friends to his birthday we do a lot of planning on who we aren’t going to invite. It sounds weird to do it that way but Ryan’s list of friends that he wants to invite is way too long. So, way before his birthday we start planning who the lucky 18 kids will be. And not only that, 18 kids is a HUGE birthday party.
This is the second year in a row that we’ve hosted his party at the gymnasium across the street from our house. The kids get an hour and a half time to play in the gym – trampolines, padded walls – all the stuff you’d expect at a real gym. They also have 3 instructors that lead them around and give them lots of fun activities. After the gym time the kids all crowd up into a small room which we decorated with planets (that was the theme for Ryan’s birthday as he is so obsessed with the planets). Over the last few weeks daddy and Ryan made all of the planets out of paper mache – I don’t know if you can see them in the photos but they are pretty cool.
Here are the photos from the party and at the bottom is a video of Ryan getting his cake
