East Coast Vacation

It is always such a highlight for us to come back to the Maritimes – it seems like we can make it up every two years with the whole family without going broke (it costs a fortune!).  For this vacation we were very lucky to have it coincide with a concert I was playing in Midland (to help offset the cost) and to have it happen right around dad’s birthday #70.

We had such a blast visiting everyone.  Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to see Anya on this trip but it will happen soon.  As is the tradition daddy makes a video of some of the highlights of the vacation.  This year there are some really special moments that we were lucky to capture on tape.  This is a must see video and is quite large.

If you are having problems viewing the video you can download it by right clicking and saving the video.  Make sure to watch it full screen!  If you watch it on YouTube make sure to watch it in High Definition (720p).

Bike Race

Every year there is a large bike race that takes place right in front of our house.  There is a small part of that race that involves kids.  It’s not a real race for kids, more of a let’s all bike together kind of thing because the ages range from 4-8.  We didn’t put Ryan in the race last year which was a mistake so this year we were one of the first to sign up.

The race is pretty chaotic and crazy but Ryan had a blast.  He pedaled as fast as his tiny feet would go and was one of the fastest young kids.  We were very proud!

Here are some photos.

High Class Taste

Ryan has been intrigued by sports cars for quite some time.  The other day while shopping for groceries we came across a Ferrari parked in the lot.  Ryan insisted that we take some photos.  As we were taking photos the owner came out and he was a really nice guy.

In the next picture I’m not sure what Ryan is trying to do but I had to include it because I think a picture is worth a 1000 words.   And before you go saying that I told him to do that – you are crazy!  He is his own sick puppy and doesn’t need daddy to teach him things like that –it is in his DNA…(thanks Dad!)

Swimming

Every since we singed Ryan up for swimming in a glorified bathtub he has loved the water (we are serious about the bathtub swimming lessons –actually, it was a very warm and tiny swimming pool which was very unintimidating).  Ryan is one step away from finishing his swimming lessons until the age 6+ so he’s doing pretty well.

As someone who can’t swim great I am always a bit scared watching my kid in the water but Ryan just loves it.  Here is a video of him jumping into the deep end.

Check it out!

Back to the circus

Every year we get a local circus that rolls into town.  This is the third year that Ryan has attended and every year he goes with Ella.  It is sort of a date – this year Madeline was very excited to come.  Of course she wasn’t able to go on most rides but what she did ride was a lot of fun for her.  Check out this video of Madeline riding the train (if you listen close you can hear her saying ‘hi daddy’)

In contrast, check out the video of the rides Ryan was taking (he didn’t scream!)
