Movie Time!

April proved to be a difficult month for us.  Daddy was busy finishing up his work at UBC and Madeline was born and all the excitement that came with that.  It was recital season for daddy which meant he had to listen to lots of recitals which took up a lot of his time.  We had to get inventive to find ways to take care of Ryan when daddy was at work.

We knew that Ryan loved popcorn from the random times he has eaten it so we gave him a movie with popcorn.  He loved it (of course!).

Happy Easter!

As you already know Ryan had an Easter Hunt yesterday but today was all about the Easter Egg hunt.  What we did was fill a bunch of Easter eggs with treats and hide them all over the house and let Ryan loose.   He found them all and was so excited to open them all up.

If you notice in the pictures you will see that he is carrying his toy box from when he was a baby.   It worked great as an Easter basket.

Easter Hunt!

Here we go on Easter Saturday.  We wanted to make sure that Easter was special for Ryan this year so that he knew we still cared about him.  We decided to break up Easter over 2 days.  Today we decided to have the Easter Hunt where Ryan found a photo under his pillow and had to go find that next spot in the house.  When he went to that new spot he found another photo and so on.  It all ended once he found the dryer and opened it and found Rocky!  Rocky is a Thomas & Friends train that is also a crane and one of Ryan’s favorites.

Then again.  He loves all of the trains..

It is easy to get neglected

It is easy to get neglected when a new baby enters the home.  We made a special effort to make sure that Ryan got the extra attention he deserved.  Daddy made sure to make extra time for Ryan.  We really think it paid off, too.  Ryan has been an angel with the arrival of Madeline.  He only gets upset when daddy holds Madeline and complains that daddy needs to hold Ryan too.

It has also been a bit more difficult dropping Ryan off at daycare.  I think he has been thinking that we are at home playing with the new baby and just dropping him off at daycare but hopefully this will get better soon.

Goodnight Moon (Ryan does more reading)

We posted a video of Ryan reading a while back.  Here is another video of him reading Goodnight Moon.  He is just getting over a cold if he looks a bit stuffed up.
