Happy Good-Bye Canada Goose

Ryan has been at Canada Goose from 17 months until now.  We wanted to move Ryan to his bigger daycare (ages 3-5) before the new baby arrived.  This was going to be a big change for Ryan, not only will he be with bigger kids – he is going to be with a lot more kids (24 instead of 12).  Anyway, Ryan has been a real trooper about all of this and seems very excited.

I think the highlight of moving to the big boy centre is the good bye party that was thrown for Ryan before he left.

Here are some photos:

Another trip to Seattle

As you probably already know we love to shop in the US.  We like to take a few trips every year down to Seattle to go to the outlet or shopping malls.  It tends to save us a lot of money.  We usually go for 2 days so that we can maximize the amount we can bring back duty free. During our trips we usually try to visit some friends or family.

For our most recent trip we visited our old neighbors and really Ryan’s first real friend, Sasha.  When Ryan was about a year old he and Sasha would run in the halls and had a blast together.  Sasha even gave Ryan some of her old toys.  He really does miss having her in Vancouver.

Ryan copies mommy

Ryan has taken a keen interest in mommy belly.  He gets concerned whenever mommy complains about pain – he likes to say “Is the baby poking you?”  or is very concerned whenever mommy complains about being pregnant.  The other day Ryan tried to pretend that he was pregnant with a kitty cat (Bootsie) and would shove him under his shirt to be like mommy.

Here is a picture.

Potty Training!!

Well, it is hard to believe that the day is here.  Ryan is now officially potty trained!  We were not having much success until we told Ryan that he would be moving to a big boy daycare soon and that all of the big kids wear underwear.  We then proceeded to get rid of all of his diapers and almost overnight he was potty trained.

Of course, there were a few accidents (there still are) but they are few and far between.  And we are very grateful that we won’t have 2 kids in diapers at the same time.

Phew!

Cowboy Ryan

Ryan likes posing for photos and has started asking to have his photo taken.  Here he is posing in his cowboy boots.
