Snow in Vancouver? Yipee!

As you probably already know – it doesn’t snow much in Vancouver.  We did get a nice dumping of snow in November and ever since that melted we’ve been waiting for more.  I was checking the weather forecast and heard that it was going to snow!  Ryan and Daddy ran out to Canadian Tire to buy a sled.   Ryan picked out a red one and we decided to buy it for him (from Grampa & Lynn) for Christmas.

As crazy as it may sound the weather people were correct and it snowed!  Ryan had a really hard time falling asleep.  Actually, we caught him looking out the window after he was supposed to be in bed.  He knew that there would be a good chance that Ryan & Daddy would go sledding the next day.

When we woke up in the morning the snow had already started melting (thanks, Vancouver!).  Daddy had to work at 9:00 so we quickly ate some breakfast and hopped into the sled and had a blast.  It was a bit wet but Ryan had a blast and had a lot of fun going down the hills and trying out his new sled.

Here is a video of Ryan on his sled:

A visit from a little bird

On a nice sunny morning Ryan and I were eating our breakfast when we noticed a little bird that came by for a visit to our patio.  We tried throwing out some nuts for him but it just scared him away.  I was trying to figure out what type of bird this was and I couldn’t figure it out – so I ran and grabbed my camera to take a picture before he flew off.  I guess I don’t know all of my West Coast birds yet.  If you know what this bird is, can you send us an email?  We’d love to know.

New Years Day!

First off, let me just say that we didn’t party like teenagers on New Year’s Eve.  Actually, it was a very civilized evening and we all woke up the next day happy to take on the New Year!  As we usually do in the Cho family tradition – we celebrated New Year’s with the traditional bowing to our elders and asking for advice.  This year was great as it always has been in the past.  Here are some family photos from that day!

Pony & train ride

On New Years Eve day we decided to take the kids to a pony ride (Ryan’s first) and to a train ride before heading to the zoo to check out the animals.  both Ryan and Tyler were great going for a ride on the pony.  They were both very excited and loved riding the pony.  Afterwards we took a train ride around the park – this was also a hit with both youngsters as they are both big Thomas the train fans!.

Bath time in a Jacuzzi?

When it was time for a bath at Bunny & Shrek’s home both of the kids wanted to take a bath in the Jacuzzi.  Boy did they have fun – they could splash without fear of the water spilling over, and what fun it was to have a buddy in the water to make more of a mess!
