Ryan meets Richard

On Sunday night Richard was in Vancouver for the Pacific Contact and stopped by for a visit.  It was his first time to meet Ryan.  He brought a Pooh bear who was dressed up as an Easter Bunny for Ryan. Ryan was very interested in Richard but a bit timid at first.  He kept a few feet between them but gradually got closer and closer to him.  Eventually he started making some cute sounds to get Richard’s attention and then we got out the camera and got a few photos. It was almost Ryan’s bed time so Richard and I took off for some dinner to get caught up on stuff and have a few drinks. Here are some photos.

Mirror Mirror on the wall, who’s the handsome one I see?

Ryan has taken a new kind of interest in his reflection lately.  Check it out!

Who’s that hiding behind the door?

Ryan has figured out how to open doors – no, not with a doorknob yet.  We need to leave it open a crack for him to open a door, regardless he is getting around.  He is at the age now where he has figured out how to get into our cupboards .  Actually, he can pretty much get into anything.

Want to go for a drink?

It’s finally official.  Ryan has started feeding himself.  He used to grab at the bottle while we were feeding him.  This is just another step to him being completely self-sufficient and another bit of our freedom back!

We would normally have so much more to post but Ryan is really obsessed with the camera.  If he sees you holding it or even picking it up – he immediately stops doing whatever he was doing and runs after you.  We might have to start posting video clips of him chasing the camera.

Here’s a video of Ryan having his first drink on his own.
