Ryan likes to eat apples!

Ryan has started eating solids a few weeks ago and has shown a distinct like for certain foods.  He likes to eat apples – we have a video of him being offered his first apple.  It is worth checking out!

We took this video during our weekend in Whistler.  We went up to Whistler where Jasper taught some high school kids. We stayed in a nice suite and had a nice fire in our fireplace.

There was no snow in Whistler but plenty of rain – nothing new for Ryan.

You might notice Grace eating an occasional Sun Chip – yummy!

Ryan can (almost) sit up.

Ryan has been starting to really love tummy time, which has made our lives much easier.  Occasionally we will go into his room to see that he has rolled over onto his stomach to sleep.  He has been able to turn from his back to his stomach for quite some time now but is unable to roll back.

We have also been trying to encourage him to sit up.  With some help we can get him into a good sitting position which he can hold up to 10 seconds.  Here are a few photos of him playing while sitting.  If you look carefully you can see daddy standing in the background wearing his nice suit socks and nothing else!!

We also got a few photos of him sitting on the couch.  In one of the photos he is working on his SEXY MAN pose!!  Can you guess which one I’m talking about?

Ryan is learning how to fall asleep by himself.

This falling asleep by himself thing hasn’t been really easy.  The hard part is that Ryan is very strong and stubborn.  When we put him down on his crib he will roll over and toss and turn.  He will do this while fussing and crying.  The other day we were wondering why he was having so much trouble falling asleep.  When we went to check on him his feet were sticking out of the crib.

You might think that we don’t have a bumper there but if you look really closely you will see that he pushed it down with his foot -it is stuck outside of the crib and above the bumper!  We can only imagine what he will start doing when he can crawl and jump.

Happy Halloween!!

Ryan had his first Hallowen and he went as a bumblebee.  It wasn’t his best week as he came down with a cold.  But by Halloween he was starting to feel better.  We did get a few good shots of him in his bumblebee outfit.  Here they are!

I can fly!! Happy as a bumblebee

Apple Festival

This weekend we went to the local Vancouver apple festival to buy some local apples. It was pretty intense to see so many different varieties of apples. There were so many different types that we couldn’t decide on what to buy. We stuck with our ‘local’ favorite –Ambrosia. This type of apple was discovered by accident in BC and is without a doubt our favorite type.

At the apple festival they charge you about twice what you could get the apples for at the store so in the future we will not buy apples from them but we will go to enjoy the festivities.

We took a couple of photos of Mommy, Daddy and Ryan outside of a tree (not an apple tree).
