It has become a tradition (a tradition is something you’ve done more than once, right?) for us to go to the Bright Nights at Stanley Park to celebrate the start of Christmas season. They decorate a huge section of Stanley Park in Christmas lights and have a train that goes through. Of course, this would be Madeline’s first time to go to Bright Nights. She really loved it and the highlight was being on the train. Here are some photos from that event.

Holy Jumpings!
A few months ago Anya gave us her old jolly jumper. We have used it for a few weeks with Ryan now. And lately he has become obsessed with trying to stand up. Ever since he mastered crawling he has been wanting to stand up.
Here is a video of him having some fun in the jolly jumper. Thanks for the gift, Anya!

A Blue Mess
We have been feeding Ryan solid food for some time now. These days Daddy has been trying to cook up some interesting food, and trying to avoid all jar food.
Now that Ryan is past the basics (single veggies and fruits) we have introduced Chicken casserole and Beef Stew….yummy! Daddy would cook a dinner for himself and mommy and then blend the rest for baby. We had to vary our recipes a bit but Ryan has been enjoying it.
The other night Grace left me at home with the baby so she could go to the gym. Right before she left (Ryan was sleeping) she said -you might need to feed the baby when he gets up. Well, I had no idea what I was getting into. This little boy ate for 1 hour straight! He ate chicken casserole followed by rice cereal and banana, followed by more chicken casserole and some yams. At this point I couldn’t imagine him eating any more food. But he still wanted more food. So I thought about it and said that who doesn’t like a treat after a feast. So I took some frozen blueberries and mixed them with some banana and a bit of water. It was still pretty cold but Ryan chowed down. In this video you will hear my amazement at the amount of food that he ate, and to top it all off – when he finished his desert I gave him 2 ounces of formula.
