Vancouver has had a lot of snow recently.  We didn’t mind as we were in Los Angeles for most of it but we were lucky enough to enjoy a few days of snow.  On our third day back we had a good snowfall and took Ryan out for the first time in the snow.  We have a few photos in our photo section if you want to see more, and a video here.  This is Ryan’s first 30 seconds in the snow.  If he looks a bit perplexed, I don’t blame him – you try remembering what you did the first time you saw snow.

In the Korean tradition we celebrate New Year’s by bowing to our elders and asking for advice/blessing.  After the blessing it is common to receive a gift.  We were told last year that Mommy and Daddy would no longer receive some gifts and that it would be time for the baby to receive the gifts.

When we bow, we say Happy New Year and then listen to the advice.  We took some photos from the day.  My favourite is of Ryan grabbing hold of his gift with a big smile…Who knew that he would like envelopes of money at such a young age!!

Ryan being the son of 2 musicians couldn’t possibly escape the influence of his parents.  We certainly don’t give him too much music but when he does hear us he is obviously listening.  Ryan starts out by trying to copy his dad’s singing and then stops for a little kiss from mommy.  Then he continues on by playing some more of his own original composition on the piano.

What a blast Christmas was with Ryan.  We opened all of our gifts on the night before.  It was a bit overwhelming for Ryan -so much excitement and everyone wanting to take his picture.  We woke up the next day and what a surprise it was to see the Santa Claus had come for Ryan.

Ryan loved all of his gifts.  Many of them had to be small in size so that we could fly back to Vancouver with them but he still loved them nonetheless.  Here are the photos!
