Summer Camps

This summer we decided to take Ryan out of daycare early (see the post about his happy good bye).  We wanted him to experience new things and to make new friends.  What we did was a bit crazy but it ended up working quite well.  We tried putting him in a different camp each week.  It ranged from Soccer to multi-sport to Lego and Super Scientist.  Ryan did great and made lots of new friends.  He is ready for kindergarten!

One of the camps he went to was called Lego-Wedo which made Lego structures with moving parts.  In the video below you will see Ryan trying to show you how it works.  This was one of his favorite camps.

Garden and Swimming Pool

This summer we decided to buy a solid pool instead of an inflatable one.  Last year, they had sold out of the solid ones so we were stuck with an inflatable one.  The pool was a big hit especially the fact that it came with a mini slide.  The following photos don’t show the kids playing in the pool, rather it shows them eating corn (which is also fun!)

Also, it is that time of the year where the garden has started producing some food.  The kids love going to eat the strawberries and veggies.  Here is what the garden has produced so far.

Happy Birthday Ryan

Two years ago (on Ryan’s second birthday) daddy captured all of the young kids trying to sing happy birthday to Ryan but all you can really hear is daddy’s out of tune voice.  Grace was so mad that she made me promise not to sing when the kids sang to Ryan.

All of the kids were so excited to eat the kitty cat cupcakes and to sing softly (Ryan asked for them to sing softly!)

Go Fly a Kite

Last summer daddy and Ryan flew a kite a few times.   It was something we both enjoyed.  Anyway, daddy came back from adjudicating a festival and it was one of the windiest days I can remember – braches were everywhere.   We decided it would be a great day to fly a kite so we headed off to the park to fly the kite.  It was so windy that the kite could barely keep its shape – it basically just shot up as high as it could go.

Ryan was very excited because he released the string as far as it could go – the maximum and thought that was the coolest.  We have a video – the sound of the wind is very loud so you might want to turn your speakers down.

Check it out!!

Ryan moves to a bigger room

In preparation for the new arrival (the baby!) we did some room designs.  We put together Ryan’s old crib, we took a  trip to Seattle to buy lots of stuff and we painted the rooms.  Ryan moved into the bigger room and we painted it blue and the new baby’s room is pink.

We also bought Ryan a big boy bed (Twin Size).  He really is growing up fast.

Check it out.
