I wear my sunglasses in the house!

We posted a photo of Ryan wearing some sunglasses the other day.  He wouldn’t let us put anything on his head or face for the longest time.  Today, daddy was showing Ryan how cool it looked to wear sunglasses and check himself out in the mirror.   Ryan thought it was the funniest thing.  So, I gave him his sunglasses and he kept running by the mirror and every time he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror he had to stop and check himself out (and man did he like checking himself out!!).

I grabbed my camera and video taped it for you all to check out.  We haven’t been updating our blog nearly as often because Ryan is so active and we are always out at the park or at the community center (which is behind our house –connected to the park).  We never really seem to have the camera with us.

Whatever goes up must come down

Ryan has mastered crawling.   He crawls up anything he can – he even tries to crawl up us when we are standing.  The other day he was trying to crawl up Grace and ended up pulling her pants down!  (we were home!)

We took pieces off of our couch to watch Ryan crawl up and over.  We had no idea what we were going to get.  Check out these 2 videos

Here I come! Watch out below!

Obaki Fever!

Tonight when we got home we were trying to give some food to Ryan and he was pretty fussy.  I tried all of his favorite foods but he kept fussing so we put him down to crawl – and he kept fussing.  That is not at all usual for Ryan.  Grace noticed that he felt really hot, so I checked his fever and it was 101.

Oh no!  This is his first fever and we were freaked out, of course.  We checked his fever like 10 times and it ranged from 101-102.1.   We gave him Tylenol and tried to calm him down.  Ryan hates to cuddle, but tonight he kind of liked it – very sweet.  He also seemed quite tired so we prepared his bath (luke-warm) and he liked that and cuddled him to sleep (he loved that for once!)

We don’t know why he had a fever – the last time we took him to the doctor, she asked us if he had ever had an ear infection (which he hasn’t) so she told us to watch out for signs.  This could be from an ear infection, although he hasn’t really been giving any signs of that, other than this fever.  Regardless, we will probably take him in to the doctor to make sure as we were already told to watch out for any signs.  His fever is a bit lower now and he is sleeping peacefully, let’s hope that it was nothing.

It has been a rough week for Ryan – lots of tumbles and falls as he tries to stand up against everything.  He cut his finger yesterday when he stuck it into the radiator –we had no idea there was anything sharp in there!  (it is now protected).  And his upper front teeth are coming in so they are really bugging him – you can see the edge of one of them.  All of this in one week!

Couch Cruisin’

Ryan is now quite comfortable with standing up and pulling himself up.  To be honest, he is a bit obsessive – it might have something to do with growing up in a 3 Taurus house.  His new thing is crusin across the couch, for the Ipod, of course.  You can see that his obsession for the Ipod distracts him at the end and he lands on his  diaper-padded butt.

Look daddy – I can crawl out of my crib

Mommy and Daddy felt like amateurs the other day.  Ryan had just learned to pull himself up about 3 days ago – we were very excited, of course.  But we didn’t put the two things together.  If the baby can pull himself up when we are playing with him, maybe he can pull himself up in his crib.  Well, by golly gee whiz – he did!  The problem was that we weren’t always super careful about putting the crib rail up all of the way.

We learned pretty quickly when we went to go see him after a nap and he was doing this.

mommy and daddy are stupid for leaving the rail down!

Since now we keep putting the rail up no matter what.  But check out these photos – Ryan has a new way of playing with his Mobile now that he can stand.

See! I can stand in my crib.       Take that you spinning thing!
