Growing up so fast!

I am amazed at just how fast babies grow up.  I swear it was just the other day when I was so excited that Ryan could roll over.  Here are two things that Ryan started doing that made me realize that he is growing up too fast

That shirt of daddies looks good.  I want to wear it!

Splish Splash I love a BBQ

Tonight we went out for a yummy BBQ and a swim at the local park.  We had some yummy Sockeye salmon (mostly Ryan) and some Steak.  We also had some portabella mushrooms and asparagus.  We were quite surprised to find out that Ryan enjoyed the portabella mushrooms.   He also loved the tomatoes with bocconcini and basil and the watermelon (of course).

We had a good time at the BBQ, then we visited the playground and continued on to the pool.  Ryan is still a bit freaked out when water splashes in his face.  Although, he was getting braver tonight and wanted to jump into the pool (into daddy’s arms).   We still haven’t submerged him yet, but the day is coming.  We are waiting for him to get a bit more comfortable.

Here are a couple of photos.

Ryan discovers how to spin

This morning when Ryan was enjoying a good dance (as he loves to do) he was watching daddy dance up his own storm.  In daddy’s wonderful dance, he included a spin.  Ryan loved it, and had to copy!

From Tricycle to Car in 30 seconds.

Ryan would really love to be able to ride his tricycle – we leave it around the house for him to check out but he can’t ride it yet.  But he can ride in his red car.  Here is a video of him getting on his tricycle and then into his car.

Which would you choose?

Ryan’s first haircut.

You might have noticed that Ryan’s hair was starting to get out of control. We loved it that way, but it was starting to get a bit too hot for him. We decided that it was about time to get his hair cut.

This decision didn’t come easily as we didn’t want him to lose his cuteness. We went back and forth about cutting his hair ourselves and finally decided that we knew next to nothing about cutting hair. We also had visions of us running his reputation as the cool kid at his work (daycare).

We finally decided to take him to this place called Mellonhead which specializes in baby haircuts. They have cool sit in toys and balloons and lots of fun things for a baby.

Ryan loved it there. We have a video of him at the start of his haircut. As the haircut progressed we were mighty shocked at just how much hair our baby had. He must have been so hot with the mountain of hair on his head. Anyway, Ryan had a blast with his haircut until the electric razor came out. The first part of the electric razor went great. It wasn’t until they tried to cut around his ear that he got freaked out from the loud buzzing sound. He started fussing, and eventually started crying. In the end, we were able to get it done without too much trouble.

They took a picture of us at the end, and then Ryan got to ride on a horse. (Coincidently, Ryan became obsessed the night before with the word ‘HORSE’) He loved being able to ride the horse at the end.

Here are some photos and a video.
