Flashback Ryan

I just came across this video by accident and I loved it and had to add it to the blog.  Ryan at 18 months!

Ryan’s last day at COHO

I know that it is hard to believe but Ryan has graduated from his daycare.  He is no longer in the infant center and has moved up to the toddler age group.  For Coho, Ryan was the first graduate ever.  In case you don’t know UBC has many daycare centers and Coho was a brand new center that they just finished building when Ryan started.

Ryan made a lot of great friends.  Here is a photo from his last day.  There were 4 kids missing from the photo (Riley Maru, Audrey, Zoe, Annouk)

When I showed this picture to Ryan he was able to correctly identify all of his friends by name.  He really does know them quite well and will miss them very much.  At the end of the day today, Ryan made sure to give all of the girls a kiss on the lips and when he kissed the boys – he stayed about a foot away from their lips!

Ryan will really miss his caregivers.  We were able to get a picture of Ryan with each of them except Noella (I’ll update this when we get a photo of her).

Ryan starts his gradual entry at Canada Goose (his new daycare center)  tomorrow.  He has already met a lot of his new buddies and really likes it there.  Each time he has stopped by to visit he cried when we had to leave.  We also think that a few of Ryan’s friends might be able to join him at Canada Goose in a few months.  We will keep our fingers crossed.

As a parting gift the staff at Coho gave Ryan and photo album of the fun things that he did in his seven months at Coho.  Here it is – check it out, it is very sweet!  If you want to see the photos up closer, or if you want to read what they wrote, I suggest you check out the pdf version here.

First Snowfall

In typical Vancouver fashion – we were forecast for a major blizzard (for us that is 10-20 cm).   But, of course, they got it wrong.  It did snow but only for about an hour – just enough to get a bit of snow on the ground.  Rather than waiting until morning when it would be nothing more than a puddle Ryan and I decided to go out and play in the snow.  Here are a few pictures.

Easter Bunny Visits Santa

We went to a really cool Christmas party at Maddie’s tonight.  Ryan was a really good boy saying hi to everyone and blowing lots of kisses to all of the pretty women.  Of course, Ryan was showing off all of his dance moves and anything that he could think of to get people’s attention.

It was during his first dance session that I noticed that he was jumping for the first time, and getting a bit of air time (not like Michael Jordan, but still something).  I remembered to bring my camera to the party!!  Here is a short video clip of Ryan jumping and having a blast at the party.

Enjoy!

A little espresso can’t hurt anyone

Ryan has been trying to copy mommy and daddy more and more.  And as you probably already know – we love espresso!  Ryan keeps asking for a cup of java, so we finally gave in.  We figured he didn’t have enough energy to keep up with us so it couldn’t hurt.

Check out the video of Ryan having his first espresso.                                         (don’t worry, it’s only milk…)
