Train me!

Ever since Christmas Ryan has been going nuts with his new train set.  He loves all of his trains –Thomas, Percy and Patrick (although we haven’t seen Patrick in almost a week).  We have a short video to show you of Ryan having fun with his trains.

Everyday when I pick Ryan up from daycare I ask him what he did today.  His answer is always “Train!!”

Happy New Year!!

On New Years eve we went to a street festival to check out some local fun stuff.  It was pretty cool and they had some fun things for kids.  Ryan especially liked riding on the Thomas train and of course seeing a full moon!

Also on New Year’s day in the Korean tradition they celebrate New Year’s by bowing to your elders and asking for advice.

Here are some photos

What to do in California?

We had some amazing weather in LA for Christmas.  Out of all of the trips there celebrating Christmas this was the best weather ever!  It was sunny every day except one.  Ryan loved pointing out that the sun was shining – we are so used to 5 months of rain in Vancouver that seeing this much sun is quite a surprise.

We also found some very cool playgrounds and had a blast taking Ryan there.  Here are some photos of us at the playground.

Ryan’s Second Christmas

It was a very fun Christmas for Ryan and everyone.  On Christmas eve we left out a brownie and milk for Santa – it wasn’t easy for Ryan to part with a brownie.  He had just had his first bite of a brownie earlier in the day and was very upset to leave a brownie for Santa.  In the end, all Santa got was a half eaten brownie and some milk with backwash.

On Christmas morning Ryan was very excited to find out that Santa had come down the chimney and had left him a stocking.  In his stocking there was a car, a train, some treats, juice, some toy animals and of course a tangerine.  Santa also left a present for Ryan to open.

On Christmas night we opened up all of our presents which was a lot of fun for everyone, especially Ryan and his cousin Tyler.  The highlight of the night for Ryan was his Thomas and Friends wooden railroad.  We had discovered last week that Ryan was obsessed with trains when he started at his new daycare.  Whenever Ryan saw the wooden trains he wouldn’t move for hours and we realized that this was the perfect Christmas gift for him.  Check out his reaction in this video.  I missed the first few seconds of him opening his gift because he basically just tore into it – I barely had time to hit the record button.
