What’s a Tuesday without daddy?

Daddy has been doing daddy daycare on Tuesday as we only have daycare for 4 days a week.  Well, that all changes starting this week.  Ryan will now be back to full time at daycare.  If you are wondering why we switched to 4 days, it was to get Ryan into a specific centre.  We knew going into that centre that we could only get a 4 day spot until a 5 day spot opened up, and it did starting this week.

On this past Tuesday Daddy and Ryan went for a hike in the woods and stopped off in a park to swing and play at the playground.  In these pictures you can see that the tulips are about to bloom here.  That is how crazy warm our winter has been….and we are hosting the winter olympics….crazy!!

Daddy is going to miss those Tuesdays, especially when he is traveling on tour!

Manly Weekend

This past weekend has been all about daddy and Ryan.  In 2 1/2 weeks Daddy needs to take off on tour leaving Mommy and Ryan together for almost  a month.  So, in preparation for that Mommy decided to take a ‘personal’ weekend and go shopping in Seattle.  I was really fine with it and it would give me some great alone time with Ryan.

We had quite a blast today – I did leave Ryan with Reanne (one of his former day care providers) for a few hours to go and practice the violin.  Reanne is fantastic!!   She is amazing at putting him to sleep and they both had a blast.

I have a few photos of Ryan and Daddy having fun.  In the manly tradition we had to have a manly meal….Barbequed Chicken, Mashed potatoes and veggies.

In the early evening Ryan decided to go on a hand washing marathon.  Here are a few photos.

ABC’s

Ryan has been talking up a storm lately – lots of new words everyday, including things we didn’t teach him.  Just tonight, I had the hockey game on and Ryan runs over and points and says “Hockey!”.  I was pretty impressed considering I rarely have it on when he is awake.

We bought Ryan one of his first new toys in a long time – it is a magnetic alphabet for the fridge.  When you put it in the middle it says what letter it is and sings a song.  Ryan loves it!!!!

I was absolutely shocked to find that Ryan has learned how to read and say the alphabet up to ‘I’  On his first day he learned up to D.  Now on his second he is up to ‘I’ – I don’t know how well he will remember G, H, and I.  His favorite letter is O.  It’s a very cool toy and a great way to get him to learn his alphabet.

I’ll try to get him pointing and saying his alphabet sometime in the next week.

The warmest winter ever!

I will start off this blog by saying that the Olympics are a royal pain.  They have started road closures and I think in the next few weeks we won’t even be allowed to drive to day care because they will have so many roads closed.   Here’s a piece of advice in case you ever find yourself in the situation where you can vote for the Olympics to come to your city.   Say NO!!!  They are fun to watch on tv but that’s about it.  Funny thing is we are having the warmest winter I can remember here in Vancouver – I have no idea how they are going to somehow produce snow on the mountains??? We’ll see!

Anyway, since Ryan started his new daycare he has only been going 4 days a week and I’ve been taking a day off of work to take care of him.  It’s been fun and we’ve done different activities each week.  One week we went to the aquarium, to science world and last week we went for a hike in the woods.  Here are some photos
